The Origin
Kapalaj was not started to sell coffee. We started it because 6,000 farming families in Guatemala deserve more than a commodity price for extraordinary work.
The word «Kapalaj» comes from Maya K’iche’ and means «to rise» — to come up. It is not coincidental. It is our core. Every cup is a promise of uplift: for the farmer, for the community, for the future.
We are a coffee company and a registered NGO — because we believe that trade and dignity are not two separate things.
“Trade and dignity belong together”
